Gurdwara Panja Sahib in Hasan Abdal is built around a boulder said to bear the handprint of Guru Nanak, and is the focus of the Vaisakhi pilgrimage each April.
Hasan Abdal is on the Grand Trunk Road west of Islamabad, an hour's drive away. The gurdwara is a place of quiet, with a clear pool fed by a spring. Vaisakhi, in mid-April, draws thousands of pilgrims from India and around the world.
Because it is so close to Islamabad, it can be visited as a half-day trip, or on the way to Taxila.
