About this tour

In recent years, the Choumus Festival has also been promoted as a tourist event by various travel companies, including Hunza Explorers, who offer special tours and packages for visitors who wish to experience the festival and the Kalash Valley. The tours typically include guided visits to the Kalash villages, where visitors can interact with the locals, witness the traditional dances and rituals, and sample the local cuisine.

The festival is known for its unique and colorful decorations, which include wreaths made from juniper branches, animal horns, and colorful fabrics. The Kalash people also prepare special dishes during the festival, including traditional bread, yogurt, and cheese, which are shared with the visitors.

The Choumus Festival is an important cultural event for the Kalash people, who face challenges in preserving their traditions and way of life in a rapidly changing world. The festival provides an opportunity for the Kalash people to showcase their rich culture and traditions, and to connect with visitors from different parts of the world who are interested in learning about their way of life.
