Chitral and Hunza valley

At Hunza Explorers, we offer a comprehensive Chitral, Kalash, and Hunza Valley tour that will take you on an unforgettable journey through these stunning regions. Our unique itinerary is designed to showcase the very best of each destination, from the unique traditions and customs of the Kalash people to the stunning landscapes and rich cultural heritage of the Hunza Valley.

Our tour includes visits to the famous Kalash valleys of Bumburet, Rumbur, and Birir, where you can experience the traditional way of life and unique customs of the Kalash people. We also offer a visit to the historic Chitral Fort, which is a fine example of the traditional architecture of the region.

In Hunza, we will take you on a journey to explore the breathtaking scenery, including the iconic Rakaposhi Peak, the stunning Attabad Lake, and the enchanting Baltit Fort. We also offer a visit to the Khunjerab Pass, the highest border crossing in the world, which offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding landscape.

Itinerary:

Day 01: Islamabad
Arrival at the airport in Islamabad, meet our guide and driver upon your arrival, after meeting and greeting with our staff they will take you to your hotel in Islamabad.

Day 02: Islamabad – Chitral
Drive to Chitral, today’s drive will be a bit long but very exciting, en-route we will stop at the beautiful pasthon villages of lower and upper Dir and cross the Lowari tunnel/pass to enter in the Chitral district where we will cross many villages along the way. Arrive in Chitral Town and transfer to the hotel

Day 03: Chitral – Garm Chasma
Drive to one of the remote regions of Chitral district “Garam Chasma” en-route we will stop at the Chitral national park, arrive and explore the valley.

Day 04: Garam Chasma – Bumburat Kalash valley
Drive to Kalash valley, en-route we will stop in the villages to take photos and for lunch at Chitral town. Arrive in Bumburat and transfer to the hotel

Day 05: Bumburat, Kalash Valley
Day to explore around the village and meet the Kalasha families, visit Karakal village, Kalash graveyard, Kalsh museum, in the evening back to the hotel

Day 06: Bumburat – Rumbor Kalash valley
Drive to Rumbur, arrive and transfer to the guest house, rest of the day to explore the village and meet the Kalasha families

Day 07: Rumbur – Mustuj
Drive to Mastuj in upper Chitral, En-route we will explore Bunni and other villages of upper Chitral. Arrival in Mastuj and transfer to the hotel for overnight

Day 08: Mustuj – Phundar/Gupis
Drive to Pandar valley via Shandur Pass (3700m), often called “Roof of the world” and famous for the free style polo game, arrive in Phandar/Gupis and transfer to the hotel

Day 09: Phundar/Gupis – Karimabad
Drive Karimabad. We will stop at Gilgit city to explore the city, after exploring the city we continue the journey toward Hunza, en-route we will stop at the ruins of Old Silk Road at Chalt Nagar and at Rakaposhi 7788m view point for lunch and photography. Arrive in Karimabad and transfer to the hotel.

Day 10: Karimabad
Day to explore Karimabad and the nearby villages, today we will visit Baltit Fort, Altit Fort, Kariamabd local bazzar and in the evening we will walk through the path along the water channel of Karimabad.

Day 11: Karimabad – Hoper Valley – Duiker
Day excursion to Hopper valley. We will explore the valley and visit the Hoper glacier, later we will drive back to Karimabad, en-route we will visit one of the oldest villages of Hunza “Ganish village” later in the evening we will drive to Duiker to see sunset, after sunset we will drive back to the hotel in Karimabad

Day 12: Karimabad – Gulmit/Ghulkin/Passu
Drive to upper Hunza. En-route we will stop at the sacred rocks of Hunza, the newly formed lake “Attabad Lake”, arrive in Gulmit/Ghulkin and check in to the hotel. Rest of the day to explore the village.

Day 13: Khunjerab Pass
Day excursion to Pak-China boarder “Khunjerab Pass” at 4693m above level. After spending sometime on the pass, we will drive back to the Khunjerab national park. Later we will drive back to the hotel in Gulmit/Ghulkin/Passu.

Day 14: Ghulkin/Gulmit/Passu
Day to explore one of the most beautiful destination of north Pakistan. Today we will visit Borith Lake, Passu glacier, Passu suspension bridge and explore Ghulkin village.

Day 15: Gulmit/Ghulkin – Besham
Drive to Besham on the Karakorum Highway, arrive and transfer to the hotel for overnight

Day 16: Besham – Islamabad
Drive to Islamabad, en-rotue we will visit Taxila museum, the heritage sites and later we drive to Islamabad. Arrive in Islamabad and explore the city. We will visit Shah Faisal mosque and Pakistan monument.

Day 17: Islamabad – Fly to destination
Depending on the flight time. If it is in the evening/night we will explore the twin city “Rawalpindi & Islamabad” we will visit Raja bazaar in Rawalpindi, Lok Versa museum and visit the Margalla hills. Later drive to the airport and fly to your destination.
