Fairy Meadows is a pine-fringed meadow at the foot of Nanga Parbat, reached by a jeep track and a walk of about three hours.
Nanga Parbat, at 8,126 metres, is the ninth-highest mountain in the world and has a reputation as a difficult one. From the Karakoram Highway at Raikot Bridge, a narrow jeep track climbs for about two hours, and a walk of three hours or so takes you to Fairy Meadows at around 3,300 metres. On a clear morning the whole face of the mountain stands above the trees.
An hour's walk further on is Beyal Camp. The track is rough, so travel light.
