Multan is one of the oldest cities in Pakistan, known for its Sufi shrines covered in blue tile, its pottery and its mangoes.
Multan's shrines, built in the 13th and 14th centuries, are covered in glazed blue tile and rise above the city. The tomb of Shah Rukn-e-Alam, an octagonal brick structure, is the best known. The summers are among the hottest in Pakistan, so visit between November and February.
Pair it with Harappa or Bahawalpur.
