The Chipursan Valley, also spelled Chapursan, is a remote side valley west of Sost, home to Wakhi villages and a lake, and one of the quietest parts of Upper Hunza.
Chipursan is a long, narrow valley that runs west from the Karakoram Highway near Sost towards the Wakhan corridor of Afghanistan. The villages along it, including Reshit, are Wakhi, and the valley is far less visited than the main road. There is a lake at Yishkuk and trekking routes lead further up towards the border passes.
The jeep road is rough and cut by streams in the early summer. Plan at least a night in the valley, and go only with a driver who knows the road.
