Passu is a village in Gojal, below a ridge of jagged peaks known as the Passu Cones, with the Passu Glacier running down to the highway and the Hussaini suspension bridge nearby.
Passu is a small village of orchards, with a view that people tend to remember. The Passu Cones, also called Tupopdan, are a line of pointed peaks above the village; they catch the evening light and are at their best in the hour before sunset.
What to do
The Passu Glacier ends close to the road, and a day walk goes up its side to a viewpoint. The Hussaini suspension bridge, a narrow, swaying walkway of planks across the river, is a short drive south, and crossing it is more fun than it looks. Borith Lake, a calm lake near Ghulkin, makes a good half-day. For longer walks, Passu is the starting point for treks onto the Batura glacier and towards Shimshal.
